„Pulsa efekts” exists since 2006, the association is creating and playing a variety of compositions with ethnic percussions, as well as pioneering free-style percussion and body-percussion genre in Latvia. The artistic association works in two main directions – creation of rhythmic compositions using different ethnic percussions such as African, Latin American, Egyptian and free-style percussion performances. Combining sounds of musical instruments with carefully thought through choreography creates breathtaking performances. “Pulsa efekts” collaboration with mugham singer Leila is bonding two very different musical traditions of Latvia and Middle East by blending their contrasting rhythms and melodies.
In May 2007, the collaborative project offered to the audience evaluation innovating free-style percussion performance “Spēks” (strength) in the “Dailes teātris” theatre. In 2010, “Pulsa efekts” presented their newest creation “No drums, no problems” in the “Artelis” theatre. The show combines body percussion genre and dance elements with musical performances of professional musicians.
Furthermore “Pulsa efekts” also collaborates with fire-jugglers, bartenders, DJs, vocalists, folk-bands, choruses and other artists producing new innovative and experimental performances.
