“Re Riga!” is an international contemporary circus and street art festival taking place annually in August since 2013. During three years the festival has brought to Latvia more than 70 artists from 14 countries gathering more than 25 000 visitors. As ‘Re!’ in Latvian is an informal exclamation along the lines of – ‘Hey, look at that!’ or ‘Look, look!’– , events of the festival take place in various locations of the beautiful Riga, always trying to show the best of it.
In year 2014 RE RIGA! was included in the official program of Riga – the European Capital of Culture.
In 2016 Re Riga takes place from August 23 – 26.
Festival aims –
– To activate cultural processes in Riga by making the city a positively charged, creative, adventures and socially attractive environment;
– To introduce contemporary circus to Latvia and to strengthen its development in Baltic.
The organizer of the festival is Non-profit organization “Pievilcīgas pilsētvides biedrība” (Society for Attractive Urban Environment) which involves the creatives from few companies that have successfully managed projects with local and international importance.
