Tap dance trio “Soul Tap” was formed in 2008, when three tap dancers Annija Ķesele, Gunta Tomsone and Guna Kaše joined forces to implement their creative ideas. Tap is a movement and sound, rhythm and dance at the same time. The three members expertly interweave the tap rhythms with popular music pieces arranged in jazz style. The girls are creating sound with their shoes, and those shoes virtually become a musical instrument. Of course one can dance tap without the accompanying music, but the “Soul Tap” girls have always found the fusion of rhythm and melody interesting. Tap dance is performed on podium that emphasizes the tap sound, letting it be better appreciated.
