With the announcement of this summer’s festival program, the tickets for the indoors contemporary circus performances go on pre-sale.
This year the international street art and world music festival RE RE RIGA! will take place from August 6th to 9th, presenting a diverse program of open-air shows, including acrobatics, street theatre, performances and world music concerts. This year’s novelty is the indoors contemporary circus performance program.
The festival aims to bring together over 15 000 visitors this year and is the biggest festival of contemporary circus and world music in the Baltics.
The central venue of the festival this summer will be the square at the Congress Hall, previously announced performances will also happen in other places around the city, and the music stage will be located in the Culture cafe “Esplanade 2014”. A total of 20 collectives with 65 members from 12 countries have already confirmed their participation in RE RE RIGA! The festival promises a spectacular four-day long program.
‘The festival is being held for the second year in a row and combines such democratic art genres as contemporary circus, street theatre, world music and dance. This is the largest festival of its kind in the Baltics and has found its unique niche in the diverse cultural life of Riga. This year the festival will be bigger and more accessible, it will bring together more visitors and take place in the very heart of the city – in its squares and the Old Town. New addition this year is the indoors contemporary circus performances – bringing a much more serious programme and a higher level of difficulty,’ the creative director of RE RE RIGA!
