“WORKING ON PLAYING”: THE WORKSHOP BY GUILLAUME MARTINET
(DEFRACTO, France)
As every year, RE RIGA! provides an opportunity for both professionals and enthusiasts of circus and performing arts to participate in workshops. This time it will be the juggling workshop by “Defracto” artist Guillaume Martinet.
Guillaume Martinet’s idea is to share the joy that is part of the process of creating his shows—absurd challenges, exploring limits, and full engagement. The aim is to flow into the work, repeating the same moves infinitely until we fully embody them.
This will be a technical and creative workshop, so basic juggling skills are required!
The workshop offers intensive work with several short sessions to experiment with the Defracto vision of juggling:
- Technical fundamental tools
- Rhythmic and visual juggling
- Creation and writing process
When: August 14, from 14:00 to 18:00
Where: Riga Circus School, Zellu street 25
For whom: Circus and other performing artists, students, and enthusiasts aged 16 and above
Language: English
Required: Willingness to play and basic juggling skills
Purpose of the workshop: Enjoy the work, quality in repetition, and having fun
