SITTING DUCK “CHIRINGUITO PARADISE”
Belgium

“Chiringuito” is the Spanish term for small beach bars serving drinks and light snacks, often lively meeting places where people can enjoy a relaxed summer atmosphere right by the sea.
Two bartenders are preparing for the grand opening of Chiringuito Paradise. Everything is in place for a successful launch, and it seems nothing could possibly go wrong – but the heart-warming duo soon finds themselves swept up in an apocalyptic whirlwind of chaos, where catastrophic juggling, physical comedy, and – of course – fireworks collide.

Sitting Duck is a contemporary circus company creating performances that bring together circus and theatre through a multidisciplinary approach. The company’s first production, Chiringuito Paradise (2018), directed by Christine Rossignol-Dallaire, has been performed more than 250 times across 11 countries. The production marked Sitting Duck’s arrival on the international contemporary circus scene and established the company’s distinctive artistic language – a blend of visual storytelling, clowning and physical theatre, created to adapt seamlessly to a wide variety of performance settings.
