MURMUYO “FISURA”
Spain
The audience arrives. The set is in place. But something is not quite right – no actors, no clear beginning, no safe plan. Then Murmuyo appears, a street clowning character created in Chile over 15 years ago. With mime, movement, and a wildly playful imagination, he turns the city into his stage. Fisura begins when it becomes clear that the main characters may be standing right next to us – spectators, passers-by, and people met by chance. With virtuosic absurdity and warm humour, Murmuyo pulls everyone into a whirlwind of unexpected events. Through laughter, human behaviour is revealed, along with sudden courage and the comedy hidden in everyday city life.
In his performances, Murmuyo disrupts the ordinary order of things, using movement and facial expression as his main tools. Through captivating visual scenes, unexpected actions, and playful interactions with the audience and unsuspecting passers-by, he takes viewers on an emotional journey filled with energy, surprise and joy.
