Percussionist Kalev Kosk started his percussion career in 70’s – playing with soviet estonian indieband “Mikron”, later in the Estonian Philharmonic Ensemble “Mobile” (with singer Marju Länik), have also played with Gunnar Graps Magnetic Band (you probably remember these soviet “Melodya” vinyls!) and with latvian singer Laimis Sprogis.
Also, cooperation with various estonian DJ’s: DJ Dave Storm, Hannes Kalamäe, Robert Peterson. Have partcipated with many estonian different live jazz projects with musicians such as: Lembit Saarsalu, Toivo Unt, Andi Villenthal, Virgo Veldi, Meelis Vind, Peep Ojaveski, Mart Soo etc.
Hannes Kalamäe is truely one of the premier DJ’s in the generation of estonian jazz DJ’s. Besides working as a DJ in Estonia and abroad, he has also contributed a lot to scene, introducing jazzmusic in his own weekly radioshow in Estonian National Radio 2 during 1999-2004.
He’s is born on same day with David Bowie and the following describes his large music diggin’ very well:
