CRONOPIO “MUDO – Comedia Bufa”
Latvia / Argentina

In the buffoonery show “MUDO Comedia Bufa” by Argentine-born artist Cronopio, the dark sides of our society are highlighted using elements of critical comedy.

“SIN NOMBRE” (Without Name), before your eyes, holds the world. As a participant spectator of reality, it records in its memory moments in which life has left it speechless. In those silences of life and death, of light and shadow, it constructs its view of the world…

Mariano Gedwillo, better known by his stage name Cronopio, is a clown, director, tightrope walker, and juggler from Argentina. He began his career in the art world in 1997, performing in Argentina and other South American countries, as well as in Europe.

In 2002, he founded the clown theater company Compañía de Trabajadores Kallejeros to bring clowning not only to big cities but also to small towns and villages. Mariano’s search for a true and authentic clown character is based on the realities of life, leading him to interact with diverse audiences – rich and poor, young and old, serious and funny, interested and skeptical.

“I believe in the transformative power of art, and that each of us is gifted with the ability to learn the language of art in order to share our unique vision of the world” – reveals the artist.

Since 2023, Mariano has been living and working in Latvia. He is the teacher of clowning and juggling at the Riga Circus School.
