FEDERICO MENINI “LLAR”
Argentina/Spain

The 2025 festival will open with a performance by Federico Menini.

“Llar” (“home” in Catalan) is a meeting point between architecture and circus art, where the main role is given to the material — wood. At the heart of the performance lies the artist’s search for and creation of a space where one can live, feel safe, and at peace. Responding to current global political events, the juggler constructs and balances wooden elements in a quest for stability. He develops his own language — full of surprises.

“Llar” is the result of long-term research and experimentation, drawing inspiration primarily from various artistic disciplines. It is an original, unique, and innovative performance for audiences of all kinds, addressing contemporary themes through refined juggling technique.

Federico Menini studied architecture and the arts in different countries around the world before turning to contemporary circus. His performances reveal a broad artistic vision: sculpture, social theatre, video, engraving, photography, art criticism, landscape design, and more. Menini sees circus as a fascinating multidisciplinary art form where all of these elements converge.

Federico Menini’s works have received multiple awards at circus festivals. Among them is his performance “Oyun”, which was presented at the RE RIGA! 2023 festival.
