LELDE FELDMANE, ALYONA BUHALOVA. Work-in-Progress “Fragile Power”
Latvia
“Fragile Power” is an artistic laboratory where physical power, capability, and fragility coexist. Two performers — through movement, acrobatics, and spoken word — transform personal experiences into a language of expression that weaves together strength and sensitivity, resilience and vulnerability.
At the heart of the performance is a single circus apparatus — a vertical pole — which becomes the axis mundi, the symbolic center of the world. It serves both as a support and a challenge, inviting the performers to explore the balance between strength and fragility, between self and the other person. Through close contact, mutual trust, and shared movement, an illusion of levitation emerges — a state where the body resists gravity and opens itself to connection. This physical practice becomes a symbolic space that embodies care, responsibility, and a quiet yet powerful compassion.
This contemporary dance and circus performance is a healing work about the conscious power of compassion — about care, responsibility, and the dedication of oneself to another. This quiet, often unseen self-giving represents one of the bravest and strongest forms of love. It is a moment where care becomes visible — a gesture of deliberate compassion, responsibility, and devotion. This silent, often invisible act of giving is one of the boldest and most powerful expressions of love.
Lelde Feldmane and Alyona Buhalova represent contemporary art that blends dance, circus, and the physical intensity of pole technique.
Lelde works in contemporary circus, has performed in leading European circuses, and is the founder of the Winter Circus in Switzerland.
Alyona comes from the world of contemporary dance and is an internationally recognized pole dance performer. Their creative collaboration allows both artists to expand their artistic boundaries, combining strength and fluidity to create a movement language that reveals both socially relevant and deeply personal stories in an authentic stage experience.
