The contemporary circus festival RE RIGA! will present a programme for children

During the contemporary circus and street art festival RE RIGA!, which will take place on August 20–21 in the Riga Circus, a special part of the programme will be dedicated to children. Shows for children and classes by the Riga Circus School will be available for free during the festival.

During both days of the contemporary circus festival, on August 20 and 21, there will be a special programme for children, first, the festival will feature a show by illusionist Gabriel Got, and then children will be able to test their agility at the Riga Circus School.

Illusionist Gabriel Got invites children to a classical show of illusionism in which the leading roles will be given to… toys. The little spectators will be able to both get scared and laugh, but most importantly – to wonder. It will be a journey through the fantastic world of the circus, where seemingly ordinary toys get vivid characters and get involved in different events. The performances will take place on both days of the festival from 18.00 to 18.30 at the Horse Stables of the Riga Circus, free of charge.

However, to watch is one thing, to try is another. In order to allow the small visitors not only to see but also to experience the circus themselves, the Riga Circus School will operate a playground during the festival. The ability to juggle, the capability to balance and focus, acting skills, agility and good collaborative skills, are competences useful not only in circus but also in real life. In the playground with the support from the teachers of the Riga Circus School children will be able to try walking on stilts, as well as acquire basic skills in juggling and object manipulation.

Visitors will also have an opportunity to play the big circus game and impersonate the images of acrobats and jugglers. The playground will be open both days of the festival from 18.30 to 21.00. In order to take part, children must be accompanied by an adult.
