Defracto is a new performing arts company whose ambition is to develop a language using juggling and the body. Their practice of juggling is graphic and rhythmic. They seek to create visual impressions, abstract patterns of dots and lines, with moving objects. Their work is primarily concerned with composition in space and time, creating an abstract, moving image on stage.
The body, an essential component in this graphic juggling form, is approached as a juggled object.
Flaque (or Puddle in English) is a piece of juggling for the night or early morning, made to be played anywhere. Using juggling, Defracto seek to create situations that they can transgress. Artists say: “The rules are installed only to be broken.”
Their ultimate goal is to bring the public in a process of transgression, within a universe they have constructed.
