A multiflorous program of outdoor circus shows at the square next to the Riga Congress Centre

This year “RE RE RIGA!” will present a wide variety of outdoor circus shows, which will all take place at the square next to Riga Congress Centre – a small circus town, where entry is free of charge.

Outdoor shows at the circus town next to the Riga Congress Centre:

Wednesday, August 6th, 21:00 enthusiasts and passers-by will be entertained by Bram Graafland, the musical and humorous pancake maker from the Netherlands, with his show “The Yelling Kitchen Prince”. Last year, Bram’s performance was especially well received by local audiences, therefore his return to our city is highly anticipated.

August 8th, 17:00-17:30, 19:00-19:30 and 21:00-21:30;

August 9th, 16:00-16:30, 17:30-18:00 and 19:00-19:30

„Thingamabob” by “PanGottic” (United Kingdom). The world renowned circus theater “PanGottic” is a new English- Israeli troupe from Bristol, and it produces indoor as well as outdoor shows with a mixture of physical theater and circus.

August 8th, 17:30-20:30;

August 9th, 17:00-20:00

The object micro-theatre piece “SIE7E” by “Ymedioteatro” (Spain) happens in a 7 square meter large room, wherein three artists and fifteen viewers collectively live through 10 breathtaking minutes, witnessing the materialization of the bravest dreams on a subtly created miniature scene.

August 8th, 17:30-18:00 and 20:30-21:00

“Fuzzy Dice Circus” show by “Clunker Circus” (Finland). The show claims to happen “directly” from a parking lot of a supermarket in the 90’s. The “Clunker Circus” troupe was formed in 2013 by three young circus artists from Finland. The company’s signature style is characterized by a creative spirit, strong personalities, wild ideas, amazing circus skills and an easy-going attitude towards life.

Open-air shows of contemporary circus as part of street art and world music festival RE RE RIGA! will entertain the citizens and guests of Riga at the square next to The Laima Clock as well as at the intersection of Kaļķu and Vaļņu street.

On Friday, August 8th, 16:00, 18:00, 20:30; and Saturday, August 9th, 16:30, 20:30
“Compagnie Mobil” from The Netherlands will present a joyful and romantic comedy called “Sulky M1”. The rural accent and moustache of company member Aat Dirks provides for a seductive grip on the audience, including fans of “Monty Python”, whereas his vibrancy has proved to heal even those under the grip of a winter depression – after at least a brief encounter with Aat, you’ll be running to hug your loved ones!

On Friday, August 8th, 19:00 and Saturday, August 9th, 19:00
The most grandiose performance, however, can be expected from a special collaboration between the Norwegian troupe “Cirka Theater” and the Latvian Youth Wind Orchestra “Auseklītis”. Their co-production “Musika Mobile” is a surprising tale about a travelling circus and Moldon, its director. His greatest treasure is the music machine – a huge hurdy-gurdy on wheels. The intrigue of the show arises from the moment when the orchestra first encounters this unusual machine. On August, the 8th and the 9th, this ambitious show will tell a unique story about the contrasts of an attractive theater troupe and an orchestra, sporting glossy uniforms; this echoes on many other levels and further explores the differences between human and technology, noise and music, etc.

Please, note that the performance times may change due to weather changes, so follow the latest information on RE RE RIGA! facebook and twitter pages.
